We may actually be able to use summer gear and sunglasses! whoa!

So get out and ride.  Be sure to log in and tell us about it.

I am waiting on a clutch pack in the mail.  So unless I borrow a bike or the clutch comes before Saturday...I'll be walking ;)

I went for a short ride on Saturday and a longer one on Sunday. The weather was beautiful down here. I was too warm with my thermal liner in my gear on Saturday but a bit chilly when I took it out for the Sunday ride. The Sunday ride was mainly to provide moral support to a woman who is trying to get back to riding after a horrendous crash. She's one of the moderators of the Oregon Sportbike forum. Two years ago, she let a friend take her for a ride on his new GSXR. They were on entering or already on the freeway when a car cut them off. The rider accelerated to get out of the way. She said that the last thing that she saw as the bike went into a monster wheelie was the speedometer reading 120mph. She was wearing  a riding jacket, full-face helmet, and gloves, but she only had jeans on her lower body. She ended up with a broken back and needing some skin grafts. Yesterday was her second time back on her bike. About six of us accompanied her on our bikes as she rode through her neighborhood. It is still a very emotional experience for her to get back on the bike. She's a self-employed hairstylist with two children and she doesn't have a lot of money. I've been thinking that it would be really cool if I could find a riding instructor willing to give her a scholarship to a class and help her reclaim her comfort on the bike. If you know anyone that might be willing, let me know. Sorry about the threadjack, but it's a for good cause
