Welcome Paul

Some of us here are Desmo NW members as well.  Have you looked into some riding skills classes that would help your track days?

Puget Sound Safety offers Advanced Street skills on the track a couple times a year. They also offer Total control class By Lee Parks.

Paid FC ducati Members get 10% discount on the advanced street skills.

A meeting would be great after the Holidays and it would be an excuse to party with other members

I am interested as well i am thinking about the track next year.  I am a member on dnw as well as dml.  Where are you located?  I know Yousef is going to hit the track this summer as well as a few others.

I'll check my wedding planning calendar and throw out a couple possible dates for a club meeting.

I've learned quite a bit being on the track the last couple years, first as the Track Event Coordinator for DNW in '06 and as a member of the DMD-Racing Pit Crew since then.  I have to say Paul...be ready to get addicted and spend some money.  We have a currency in my house called "track day$" LOL.

We can talk at the meeting but there are a couple different "track days" being addressed on this thread so let me define and filter them a little for those who are new to the track scene.

First, the 'track day' that Zak is talking about beyond what he has already stated are specifically a skill riding school.  Puget Sound Safety is one of our sponsors and does a great job of teaching the fundamental skills necessary for many levels of street riding.  A lot of the techniques you'll learn in their programs are very applicable in the "other" type of Track Day.

That other track day is more of the style most of us are familiar with: three main groups of riders (A, B, C) categorized by 'skill' but mostly by speed.  These track days differ in focus from just time on a track to actual race schools.  Track day organizers all have a little different take on safety, instruction etc.  All the ones I've been to have been great.

I am planning on taking Puget Sound Safety's track day to both understand the style they teach and also to review and improve my fundamental skill set. Bret, Christie (PSS owners/instructors) and I have talked several times about having an FCDucati club contingency track day with them.  And to boot one of our esteemed members would be helping out on his Ducati!

One of the best memories of my first track day are of my club buddies introducing my and teaching me how to prep my bike for the track.

On the regualar track days we could set up the club tent and have our very own pit! oh yeah...coffee, Red Bull and Ducatisti all amp'd on 160mph adrenaline!
